Introducing Supreme Imports

Supreme Imports is the UK’s leading battery and lighting distributor, and a leading name in the ecigarette and vaping market.

That didn’t happen by accident.

For over 40 years, we’ve built our reputation on professionalism, quality and reliability. That’s how we’ve gone from the humblest of beginnings to one of the fastest-growing companies in Europe (as ranked by the Financial Times, no less).

Of course, it’s not looking back that’s taken us to where we are now. And it’s not what will take us to where we want to be.

To keep growing, keep succeeding and keep providing you with the service you’ve come to expect, we rely on the talent and dedication of our team. From the company’s director, down to the staff in our distribution centre, every member of the Supreme Team is focused on getting you what you need, when you need it.

Meet Our Team

From sole traders to the supermarkets, every client we deal with gets the benefit of our years of experience, encyclopedic product knowledge, and commitment to quality.

The Supreme Range

Supreme Imports’ core ranges are batteries, lighting and vaping. All of the products we supply can be delivered throughout the UK within 24 hours, and can be packaged with the sales materials and PoS displays you need to generate significant returns.

Batteries

Servicing over 20% of the UK market, Supreme supplies 50,000 retail outlets with 300 million batteries each year. Thanks to relationships with Duracell, Panasonic, Energizer and more, we are able to supply the most widely sold and profitable batteries on the market.

Lighting

Working alongside household names such as Energizer and JCB, Supreme is able to provide lighting technology in shelf-ready retail packaging to supermarkets and independent retailers alike. From single LED bulbs through to lighting fixtures, we’ll ensure you can offer the lighting products your customers look for.

Supreme Imports also manufactures and supplies energy efficient lightbulbs through our Trillion brand.

Vaping

Over 140,000 branded 10ml eliquid bottles are manufactured on-site in our Manchester development lab each day, and Supreme has the capacity to increase production even more as the vaping market continues to grow.

Currently over 10,000 retailers stock our affordable, high quality 88Vape range, while our Kik range is earning a deserved reputation as a premium vaping product for discerning customers.

History

From humble beginnings to a global reputation

icon 1975

Supreme is founded by GS Chadha. Operating from a mobile van, Mr. Chada achieves annual sales of £250,000 selling toys and watches at seaside resorts.

icon 1991

Supreme Imports enters the battery market after stumbling upon samples at a trade show. Operating from a 3000sq/ft warehouse, we sign distribution agreements with Panasonic and achieve annual sales of £2.2m

icon 1998

Supreme Imports secures official UK distribution agreements with Duracell, Eveready, Energizer and Kodak.

Deals with a range of retailers allow us to sell over 50 million batteries per year and expand the company.

icon 1998

Trafford Park

As a result of our successes in 1998, the company moves to a purpose-built depot in Trafford Park and begins to build a strong management team. By the turn of the century, Supreme Imports has signed a distribution agreement with Samsung batteries and is delivering profits of over £1m per year.

icon 2001

Supreme Imports is now the UK’s biggest battery distributor, selling 100 million batteries to 2100 live customers.

Following a £16.1m buyout, the company moves into a new 45,000sq/ft distribution centre in Trafford Park where sales increase to £28m per year.

MCG International Ltd

In 2001, Supreme Imports acquires Sheffield’s MCG International Ltd, a £5m business in the photographic sector.

Following decades of hard work, GS Chadha retires and Supreme Imports is purchased by his son Sandy Chadha, who has spent a decade as the company’s managing director.

The company’s future secured, Supreme Imports looks for even greater opportunities to grow the business.

icon 2005

Supreme Imports now sells over 260 million batteries to 3,600 live accounts across Europe.

The Trafford Park site is extended to encompass 88,000sq/ft of warehouse space and offices as we continue to expand.

By investing in IT infrastructure, Supreme now operates a fully paperless warehouse and office, along with a fully online ordering system.

icon 2009

Supreme Imports diversify to offer specialist batteries for mobile phones, camcorders, digital cameras and a wide range of other consumer products.

A £12m takeover is also completed to integrate into Lazoron PLC and Eurobatteries.com to further increase our market share.

By now, Supreme also sells over 50m light bulbs each year thanks to deals with Eveready.

icon 2012

Record high sales of 300 million batteries per year tell only part of the story of Supreme Imports’ 2012.

Our expansion is noticed, with the company featured at number 43 in the Sunday Times’ International Track 200 list of the UK’s fastest growing exporters.

Supreme also develops a range of industrial and consumer LED lighting products and fittings under our PowerMaster Lighting label.

2012 also sees Supreme Imports move to enter a growing new market as we launch our first vaping brand.

A growing customer base now includes nationwide retailers ASDA, Costcutter, Halfords, Maplin, Home Bargains and Aldi, as we service 6,000 accounts each month.
